I gotta say, I've done terrible things to my output transformer. Ran without anything connected, connected hot taps to scope ground... I didn't realize how bad these things were 😬

It's possible, but difficult to say for certain. Stress can have gradual and cumulative effects.
Many old techs used to float their Tek scopes, and lots of those now have bad power transformers from the stress.
Just try to observe good practices. It's safer for you, too.
