Hi all, I'm trying to find a sharpie / marker / whatever to write test results onto my tubes. What I have tried so far works poorly. Is there a good answer for this? Thanks...
Put them in marked containers.
Difficult to find high temperature color in small quantities, tube makers must be using a special ink for printing.

And that “special ink” still has a habit of coming off over time. The type number etched into the glass tends to stick around. New tube vendors put stickers on the bases, but eventually they will go south too. Mark the containers instead. Room for a lot more information - including which amp and which position they were in (When pulling tubes for transport).
The different thermal expansion of inks can cause tubes to crack over many thermal cycles.
Best use marked containers, tubes are getting hard to find, and are expensive at times.

uni Paint Marker Bullet Tip Needlepoint PX203. Extra-Fine Line. Oil base.
"Marks on Most Surfaces!" certainly on glass envelope.
