Looking for some informed opinions on this amplifier, its a bit out of my price range, but it sure looks interesting.
D'Amore Engineering — A1500.2 Dual Monoblock Class A Power Amplifier with Mirror Image Techn
about $7500 for a dual monoblock class A amplifier. What makes this so expensive? I'm not as in tune with amplifier internals as many of you are.

Hi,
Class A and car audio simply doesn't mix in any sensible sense.
Don't expect this company to be around for long, inane prices.
rgds, sreten.

A nice amp
Indeed. I don't know why they wouldn't list the power output separately for Class A and AB. Looking at the current consumption they should be different at the 2 classes of operation.
This amp must generate some heat in Class A mode. I use a 50wpc Class A at home and you can't put your hand on it after 1/2hr.
I would like to see the schematic for this one.

Try reading up on the design some more and maybe asking the designer questions about the amp before trashing an amp you don't know anything about. 🙂 D'Amore Engineering does more than just amps, but if any of you would have looked at his website you would know that.
