I need to make a daughterboard that will plug into a 40 pin DIP socket. This won't be a PCB application, I will likely use either perf board or point-to-point wiring. Any recommendations/bad experiences to relate? Specific products or maybe DIY alternatives that work?
machined-pin sockets plug into each other nicely. There's also plugs with fork termiinals made for this kind of thing, but it's easy enough to stick wires into the sockets and solder them there, and should be cheaper.
