I accidentally connected the outputs of two amplifiers together. The Hitachi is toast, and will be remember fondly.
The Sony plate amp is wounded. It only has high-level inputs. The subwoofer still works but one channel on the pass-through outputs has failed. A speaker connected to this channel is very quiet (sounds like it's been shorted).
What am I likely to have blown? Is it worth repairing?

Are you saying that the Sony still works but only with its high level inputs ?
The Sony only possesses high-level inputs.
Can you sketch how you are seeing things at the moment ?

We need to see what you are measuring.
I don't know what you want me to sketch. And I don't know how to upload an image.
I have four bare wire inputs and four bare wire outputs. I know the Sony plate amp is working because sub works from when provided with a signal to either channel. I assume both sides of the amp work because the volume increases when a stereo signal is offered.
The problem is with the external (pass through) outputs. The right-channel operates correctly. The left channel has a severely reduced output. But the amplification for these outputs is provided by the original JVC amplifier. The JVC Amplifier has been checked and both sides function correctly.
I was hoping somebody could tell me I'd probably melted a resistor or something because surely a high-level pass-through circuit can't be that complicated.
The problem is circumvented by wiring the satellites directly to the JVC amp with the signal passing through the Sony. I just don't want to set my house on fire.
If you connected two amplifier outputs together its odds on that you have blown at least one output stage.

I'm aware that the outputs on the Hitachi are dead . . . Actually, I give up. Thanks for the image advice.
