I have seen speakers with time-step baffles glue a 0.5" -0.7" strip of (F13 or F26) Felt along the bottom of a flat cut baffle to reduce tweeter edge diffraction. Troels might have this option in mind.
When Troels uses solid black MDF baffle material he often routes a semi-circle around the top of the midbass on 2-way designs using a quater-round radius bit where the midrange is close to the full baffle width, so you would expect even the horizontal cut on the 3-way Classic MDF baffle to receive the same quater-round radius treatment unless Felt was considered.
Since a tube-drive all passive filter design is desired, step-baffle time-alignment is one good option.....there are a few others.

Since this Illuminator monitor has a low'ish 85db Sensitivity (2.83V/1m), you might want to run a few calculations of SPL_max and SPL vs. distortion with your 25Watt tube amp driving a 6-ohm load.
"Then some bass..." There are 3-way commercial speakers from Phonar which add two more 18WU8741T00 ScanSpeak Illuminator woofers in a bottom ported cabinet. Phonar sells both a passive and a DSP+amp 2-woofer bass cabinet. You can experiment with midrange ported vs. sealed transient sound by stuffing the port on the Illuminator monitor. This could set your long range goals.
If you require higher efficiency, a 90db sensitivity 3-way can be constructed from 7" Satori ($172)MW19P-4 midbass, ($58)SB29RDC-C000-4 tweet, 12" ($240)SB34NRXL75-8 Woof for about the same driver cost as the 2-way Illuminator Monitor. You can significantly cut costs by using the 12" Dayton DS315-8 on sale at Parts Express for $70. .

Thank you 🙂 Yes, it is a great improvement. I have decided to follow a well known design as many people have suggested here...
First I want to finish the monitors, (without subwoofer) than, if I really decide that I need more bass, I will make floor standing subwoofer cabinets to place under the monitors as you have suggested... Thanks... It is logical...
I think for the bass, I need to make another simpler tube amplifier. It can be a mono 25W with just one subwoofer maybe... I haven't planned this, I want to decide after building the monitors first. 🙂
