Digging thru my stuff after moving...I find I have two 2240H (cloth surround, big ceramic magnets). I don't even remember getting them, much less any specs (which I intend to research promptly). I figure these were probably usually used in bass-reflex tuned ported enclosures, but are they usable in a tapped horn?
I think JBL had a W bin loaded with 2240's.

it looks like the 2240H will be fine in a tapped horn, if a bit outdated and limited in excursion by modern standards. TH18 from another thread is starting to look good. What I like about that design is that it should be pretty simple to stretch it a little bit vertically. I guess a Danley TH118 is another great option, if anyone reverse-engineered it as I cannot afford two.
