bought new caps for my old rotel rb990 bx.
they are to big to be directly soldered ont pcb stuff in the way.
so i will put them somewhere else near were they would be offcourse.
someone said i should use low line cable why is that?
i think i can use normal power cable like ekk or is it a bad idea?
dont know what the difference is.

Snake Oil.
Use something akin to what the caps are fitted with. Any heavy gauge cable will work perfectly over the few cm that you are dealing with.

Hey there,
as capacitor technology has improved over the years, it is very unlikely that a current production cap is significantly larger than an old one. At least if we're talking about the same specs for the replacement cap.
Keep in mind that the rest of the power supply might not be up to the task of supplying vastly increased filter capacitors.
Greetings,
Andreas

can check in the amp tomorrow. the problem is that they are to wide the diameter.
so if i have to use wire what would be best. my friend told me to use low line cable.
the little that is inside like an rca cable but the ill need to slaughter alot of cables.
im thinking about using ekk, EKK installationskabel - Jula AB
or is there som better alternative maybe?

Will take pictures and make a comparison with the old ones in the amp. the originals is 10000uf 63v rotel brand. and the new is nichicon super through 10000uf 80volt.
the solution will be a wooden box for the caps. and place it on top of the amp that way i will get the shortest cable.
This will add inductance, and possibly increase magnetic induction of charging pulses into the audio circuitry. Not a good idea. Better to find caps which will fit, even if that means using slightly lower cap values.
