OP Anderson Aquavit, Limited edition (matured in oak whisky cask).
Mistake.
Should have bought the real no whisky baloney edition to cure my current resilient cold.
Well, it's OP, so it's still pretty good.
This might be aviable only in Sweden, but it's one of the better ones.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Visited a local craft distillery, picked up a bottle of their bourbon and a bottle of their white dog made with a blue corn mash. The blue dog, as they call it, it's really damn tasty, it tastes a lot like a soju or sake.
... the 'Isle of Skye" whisky was a present with very emotional memories - we visited the island last summer and were very fascinated by its beautiful landscapes and even more by the people living there. We met so many people who impressed us with their way of living and their general attitude and way of thinking. When we left for the way back to Germany after only 10 days, it didn't feel like going back from a holiday, but kind of like leaving home instead. It's a strange connection we made with this rough island, and we're both missing it more each day. So this whisky brought up some pleasant memories...
Besides, it is a very nice 21 year old blended scotch whisky in a limited 1000 bottle edition.

Rundmaus

E&J brandy.
The last several times I had Courvoisier Cognac, it had a displeasingly industrial aroma when sniffed.
Maybe it is just me, but E&J cheap brandy is much more mellow.

Lucky you - I'm drinking more TJ's French Roast, as I have my usual radio show tonight at 10P Pacific Time. Archives will be at kfjc.org, but you may not like what you hear😀.

If I had only known I could have been a fanboy all along. I think it might be just you, me, and Waly on "Hamburger Lady". Do you do requests? The funniest thing happened on halloween years ago a local had friends from California visiting so they requested Diamanda Galas' "Litanies for Satan" they called back 5 min later and asked that it be taken off. In the 80's some folks from California thought Martin Mull's "Serial" was serious, they didn't see the humor at all.

My grandmother's one treat was a shot of Christian Bros. in her evening tea every night. You need DEEP pockets to get classic fine cognac these days.
wrenchone,
I've been enjoying kfjc a while. I'll listen to it more in the future. Ineed to figure out how to search the archives.
Archive DJ Playlist?
It currently looks open after George Foothill.

is there an echo in here?
Since that seems to be your beverage of choice while watching old videotapes, I might have some mid 80's off broadcast copies of "Faerie Tale Theater" I could send your way, but they'd be on Beta . 😉 All kidding aside, this series was an absolute gem - we used to watch with our kids, and all of us got something out of it.

Betamax?😱 😱
Actually SuperBetamax, which at the B1 speed came very close to duplicating the resolution of live (cable) broadcast available here at the time - I certainly found it vastly superior to VHS. Of course the quality /resolution of today's broadcasting, or even streaming available on a tablet is far beyond that era - so not everything digital is evil. 😉
The only players I have now days are VHS and 8mm.
I'm trying to convert them to DVD for my kids.

You're sober enough to write consistently with three periods as a space. Can't be that bad ey?
I've tried Christian Bros, but I feel the E&J is smoother.
The first guy I worked a serious job would shut down the trading desk at 3:00 on Friday afternoon and pass around a bottle of "Stock 84" and little-shot glasses. E&J was much nicer, but he was a stickler for real Italian brandy.
