Have been away all weekend with a group of great Ukrainian refugees (women w children) and when I came home a few hours ago I had dinner with a simple light beer and a1 1/2 shot of gorilka (horilka), wich is the Ukrainian version of strong distilled drinks.
Coffee stout 12% alcohol. Perfect for a friday afternoon. But, please do not drive the car for a while, after this splendid drink
Brought a bottle of Leiper’s Fork Tennessee Whiskey recently. My brother-in-law and me drank it in two nights. Might be one of the best whiskey's I've ever had. Fantastic stuff.
Since coming back from France a couple of weeks ago:
I also had some Don Papa over in France - is too sweet a rum, I also took over some pineapple rum (no sweetness) and the du Mat is between the two.
- 9.0% Leffe Royale beer
- 8.0% Leffe Amber beer
- 35% Riviere du Mat Arrange Noix de Coco - coconut rum liqueur
- 6 bottles of red wine and a bottle of white for storage to stock up (I've not bought any for the last two years)

While scouting Scotland for whiskey last month I discovered two that we/I really liked a lot. Aberfalls (a Welsh whiskey) and Auchentoshan, 3Wood - a single malt from just outside Glasgow. But there are different tipples for different times of the day/week and even music I think.
@KaffiMann, forgot about that one. That was a favourite some 15 years ago. Drinking it cold in the Summer and hot, like gluewine in the Winter.
A few years ago we had a whiskey tasting amongst the St. George's Society (England), St. Andrew's Society (Scots), St. David's Society (Welsh) and Sons of St. Patrick (Irish.) The English purveyor didn't get a lot of traffic, and their offering placed last, St. David's brought Penderyn which was OK, the Scots and Irish took the prizes -- for the most part owing to the fact that the rep from the Irish was a 30 year old "ginger" lass. While scouting Scotland for whiskey last month I discovered two that we/I really liked a lot. It was reported at the occasion that William of Orange used gin to subdue the English.
Bruichladdich (nice edgy blend)
Talisker 15 yo (Isle of Skye - off the beaten track- visited last year. Full of Americans who had made the pilgrimage)
Dalwhinnie (visited twice) - very smooth

Any kind of beer I can find. It comes from the change I recovered from my easy chair when I tilted it on its side to fix the tilt function.
