Has anyone ever looked into using a slide projector and a super small LCD? How much do these LCDs cost and where could they be found?
It seems like this would be a much better design idea for a projector.

Search the forum, for sure someone has tried it.
Typically all LCD projectors on market use three 0.7" - 1.5" monochrome panels that could be used in slide projector if handled well (kept out of heat). I know that Sony has made also color LCD panel about the same size, look here.

They have a controller for the Sony LCD's. Funny the panel in photo is color but the text mentions only the B/W panel. I guess you can use one controller to control three B/W panels. With these and special mirrors you could build usual kind of projector, but it must be difficult. However, you could use your B/W projector to watch old B/W movies!

with a controler?
I know it may be a little large but I don't remember what size a slide is.
With the the specs on that LCD I would think that it would make a great projection. What do you guys think?

This is black and white. You would need three and a complex optical set up to align them.

This is a color LCD why wouldn't it work?? What do you mean "You would need three and a complex optical set up to align them"
Sorry I misread the thing. Well then that brings me to my second choice.

That one is color but the specs on it are not as good. It looks like it would ork though.

I remember that thing cost at $1000 range as mentioned two weeks ago. Anyone can find that thread?
if i'm lucky
i'll get one slide projector this week and try to build one projector with a 5" monitor
(i own a 2,5" sony monitor but i haven't tried to connect it yet)
i know i have to dismantle the slide projector and build it in a case with mirror reflection ...etc because of the heat
i'm not interested in ohp because it's take too much place
if i can get a 120 centimeters base screen with a good resolution i'll go to the bar and drink a lot of beers
