Nov 11 deals? I didn't know that was a thing. Around here the shops are closed on Nov 11, we call it Remembrance Day now, it used to be called Armistice Day. We gather around memorials in silence and remember the millions who lost their lives in war. Not a good deal at all.

It is "the busiest internet shopping day in China." At least that's what the adverts from BangGood (a Chinese shop I have purchased from) say.

I did however order a 43 inch 4K TV for $229 from Sam's club on Nov 12 (today). It was part of a "one day only" sale. I plan to use it for a computer monitor.

In Germany it is the beginning of the party (aka 5th) season.
Between 11:11 am on 11.11. and Ash Wednesday it is socially acceptable to have fancy dress parties culminating in Carnival.

It has been like this since 1820 or so. 11 has been chosen because in german it is 'elf' which are the initials of the french revolutionry slogan 'Egalité, Liberté, Fraternité'.

No special deals as far as I know.

I received several emails offering deals, discounts, and so forth. These came from Paypal, tempting me to buy stuff mostly from China via Paypal. I didn't take the bait. They called 11-11 "singles day." An explanation was attached in one of the pictures.
