Hi I have pair of Wharfedale Unit 5 speakers. These are from the 70’s and were kits of the drive units used in the Dovedale 3. There is a 12” bass, 5” midrange and a 1” tweeter. The crossover is marked as a PRESSAC 40/232. I would like to check the wiring on this as some are disconnected. Can any one assist with a wiring diagram. Also is there anything I should do to upgrade this crossover. Would new caps help?

Both Caps need replacing, use an NP electrolytic for the 25uF; use polypropylene for the 6uF, 6uF is
an odd value, you may need to parallel two smaller caps, say 2u7 and 3u3
Here's my best guess at the wiring, assuming tweeter is connected reverse polarity: in the 2nd pic above, the terminals left to right are:

Brilliant thank you for that. There also appears to be a wire wound resistor on the board as well. Should that be replaced, and are there any particular brands of component I should buy
The resistor shouldn't need replacing; buy the cheapest caps available at your local supplier, unless you believe the bs around here about expensive cap brands.... spend the money you save on more music or good whiskey....
