My Wharfedale SW-8 Sub-woofer has stopped Automatically turning off and I have a loud humming noise.
Opened it up and the two 6800uf caps look swollen, so replacing those. may also have an issue with the one relay model. But it looks as if some of the resisters (5 in total) have become quite warm and the skins have come off, so can't read the values. Unit still works.
Does anyone have a copy of the service manual?
Any help, much appreciated.

The traffic here is generally the build it yourself type so you might not find anyone with knowledge of that product. It sounds like the blown caps have left ripple on the power supply rails, yielding the hum. Im not sure how power on circuits are structured, buy it is likely the hum doesn't allow it to shut off because its not inactive so to speak while humming. Replace the caps and I bet youll be all set. Good luck!
Hello Cspieker - Thank you for your reply - you've made me think about something I'd not actually considered, and that was the hum preventing shutoff. I removed the relay as this is normally the issue and it all tested correctly.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks.
