I've not been lurking the WE web site for a while and this morning I noticed it is all new. And they carry an amplifier, a RIAA preamp, a CD player, the old 755, tubes and more.
So, what's going on there? Hopes to see this brand back in the business?

May be. As old analog technologies like LP are coming back, why not them?
I hope any time compactron tubes came back into production, there was very interesting combos in them. Like a 12AU7 plus 1/2 12AX7 or vice versa, with the save of one heater consumption.

They have come and gone repeatedly over the past couple of decades. The site may or may not be a promise of things to come, one can hope.
I used the WE 300B in one my products in the late 1990s, early 2000s time frame and was a good performer in the product.
Just had a look, nice site, and new business address.

You mean somebody who bought the WE *brand* is now sticking it on some products, which they might make or not ? (most probbly some outsourced OEM product)
Why I don´t find this exciting or new?
Any relation to long defunct real WE?
Think again 😉

Charles Whitener licensed WE and Westrex from Western Electric more than 2 decades ago. The tooling used to make the tubes is original WE, and when I was buying the tubes materials were too; these days I don't really know what is going on. The company has relocated a number of times over the past couple of decades with long periods of inactivity being relatively common.

I heard they stopped production when stock of materials was exhausted.
I'd like to see a reasonably priced WE 300B (and others) as many out there are manufacturing and selling them.
Wondering where the products are made.
Hard to know exactly what to make of this section of new website

I must say these look very refined, understated and elegant, but with 8 of the new production 300B per channel, I suspect the entire product line will be of the "sir, if you have to ask ....." variety.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
weight - 165lbs per channel
