How much does Foxconn get for each Apple iPhone they make?
You can find out for yourself, compare it to what Apple gets.
These people may be selling 1000 tables a year, if at all, which is a day or two for a decent motor factory to make.
And see how many Mabuchi makes daily, they are famous too.

Wikipedia:
'Mabuchi Motor Company (マブチモーター株式会社, Mabuchi Mōtā Kabushiki Kaisha) is a Japanese manufacturing company based in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is the world's largest manufacturer by volume of small electric motors, producing over 1.4 billion motors annually.'

I know a man who went to Panasonic, their factory in Johore, just outside Singapore in Malaysia, was their world center for compressors.
He said he wanted 10,000 units a year.
They said we make 30,000 daily, laughed him off...said go meet our distributor.
This was many years ago.
But your perception of large order may not be the same as that of others.
'Panasonic Appliances Refrigeration Devices Singapore was established in 1972, manufacturing energy efficient inverter compressors for fridges, water coolers and vending machines. The manufacturing set up is vertically integrated. The in-house processes range from iron casting, machining, component parts stamping, welding, motor core stamping and winding, and final assembly. The annual output capacity of the factory is seven million pieces, achieved through the use of highly automated machinery in the manufacturing process.'
I may have got the name Johore wrong, maybe it was Malacca.
Now that plant is being shifted and partly closed.

Hi, I guess you must have missed the add in Swap meet.

Used a Portescap 26N 5821EE 1, lot higher & quieter than the one supplied from O/L, will do 33 & 45 with adjustable trim pots. People have found for years now that swapping from an AC to to DC yields a massive improvement in S/Q. Plus it's only $350 + postage which will be around $80-00 tracked, Works on 110 to 240 volts from a supplied 12 SMPS, but even better results are obtained if you use a SLA 14 VDC battery (live Voyd T/T's do).
Cheers

This is another stand alone motor for a turntable with an 300 mm platter.

Thanks so much for all the really excellent advice. As it turns out, I was able to solve the problem. What was happening was that the speed of the table would suddenly drop to almost nothing. I found that if I pulled up on the pulley, the speed would come back. Then, a few minutes later, it would drop again. So I decided to take the motor apart, and in doing so, I discovered what some of you will probably already know: in the bottom of the lead base, there is a deep hole, and at the bottom of the hole there is a white plastic hex socket, like a grub screw. (This is the round motor.) It turns out that the screw, when turned clockwise, pushes up on the bottom of the shaft that the pulley is attached to. Apparently, this screw is there to address precisely my problem. I made the adjustment, and since then, the motor has been working properly. I'm not declaring total victory yet--it could still fail again, and I'm going to give it a month or so before I feel completely comfortable, but I'm really hopeful.
Did you grease the grub screw?
Do it next time, it reduces wear, makes things smoother.
A pea size amount may be too much.

Thanks, NareshBrd, for the suggestion. I didn't grease the grub screw, but I will now.Did you grease the grub screw?
