This is not just on the mobile platform, I see it on the desktop, too. It's been confusing to figure out.
I don't think we had strikethrough on the old forum. Those bracket-S sequences could have been there for 17 years, not interpreted as formatting code.
You could get around for years and not see any in practice. I can tell you though strikethough did work, I used to use it on a rare occasion.
In GM's case the end tags are there, which is curious. Jason has backups of everything. Of course it's not as simple as flicking a switch, but a comparison could be made.

Oh yes! Never seen this before on any forums all the way back to the email BBs; thought it was some sort of weird censorship, what with all the political, etc., 'correctness' that's been going on here in the USA lately.
The 'similar threads' panel is in a distracting place between the thread and the reply box. It could stand to be at the bottom of the page. It's a push which I don't use as often as that.
Maybe, but it shouldn´t be needed , at all, at least for everyday Forum navigation.

I wasn't thinking of the same thing but now you mention it, I see the reply box shows things as they display with less tags needed.
I don't prefer that, I like the tags.. but I have a problem there too. When I switch the reply box to tag mode all the icons go grey and I can't use them, so I have to do more typing.
I'm hoping on a fix in good time.
I wonder what part of the new forum code is attracting the spam accounts, I caught 3 created within the last hour plus one created yesterday.
Not sure if this has been covered already... I just tried to recreate my signature from memory, but when I tried to save I got an error message saying that only one link is allowed in the signature. I'd like to include links to my more relevant projects, as I did with the old forum software. How can I do that?
First feature of the old platform to miss so far. Previously, when looking at the threads' list and clicked on the answers' total, I could see and search all members' activity in this thread. I can't find this now.
Can a Mod check another account, I don't want to post the account name just in case it isn't, but it has some telltale signs that it is a spam account.
@Indiglo, I have made a note of this. We are usually on top of spam, and that's the reason there was very little on the old site. We're still settling in here but doing our best.
