Hi,
This thread is where i'll be keeping you abreast of things happening at Planet10-HiFi, developments, new products, specials and more.
This particular thread is for me, members can start & post in other threads in the forum asking questions, posting comments on, or anything about planet10-hifi products.
The 6th Annual Vancouver Island diyFEST went well. Lots of fun was had 🙂
It will be the official roll-out of some designs for the new Planet10-HiFi EL70eN, a new paper cone driver from Mark Audio that has factory support. Also sold without our special touches as an EL70 by Bob at Creative Sound (Mark & Bob have their own new forums as well).
There will be a wealth of plans for the EL70 when Bob starts shipping, with more to follow. At the event we heard the Castle version of the microTower ML-TL, Scottmoose's (Woden Design) Thirlmere-R bipole MBVR, one of 4 (+ variants) in his Lake District Series, the P10, mMar-Kel70, desended from the mFonken (we now have 6 mFonken variations for the FE127, FE103, FE108eS, CHR-70. Alpair 10 and the EL70 -- of course we'd like it if you put the p10 version of these drivers into the boxes 🙂), and Bob broughta twin EL70 BR built into the PE curvy 3/4 ft^3 PE box. The performance of the last showed that you don't loss much with 2 closely sppaced EL70 both firing forward, and you gain a lot in terms of dynamic capabilities.
There will only be 20 pairs of these land-mark drivers (and after that they will be CSS labeled), their is a pre-order special on them until i can ship from stock sometime in the latter half of September ($170/pr, $305/quad)
CHR-70eN are now available, as are our FE127eN, FE126eN, FF85KeN. Other Fostex drivers available on special order.
We continue to work thru the Mark Audio line-up. the Alpair10eN made its debut at the diyFEST. More evaluation needs doing, but on 1st blush it makes the same gains as the CHR-70.
