I bought this amp a while ago for $100 but it came like this. I just replaces the valve and nothing has changed. Also seems that the main sound I'm wanting to fix (OD-2) only happens once a plug is inserted into the amp. Doesn't have to be fully inserted to start the sound. I'll leave a link to a video here:
not to discourage you but as someone who's seen several 8080's on my bench your looking at a preamp supply problem and possibly opamp replacements (based on the noise from the video) hopefully you have at least a multimeter and a DBT available?
the tl072 is not a microprocessor it's an analog opamp.
the DBT is a Dim Bulb Tester and allows you to limit current during the repair process (google it you'll find lots of info)
did you ensure the preamp supply was ok?

in the vid it appears all the washers and nuts for the controls are missing also do you have the knobs?
