This is the first time during my fifty years in Dallas that I've seen snow in Spring. We beat the record low for today's date by five degrees Fahrenheit as well.

Hi John,
This weather is crazy. Up here on the west coast of Canada we had only a couple spits of snow the whole year, we had cherry blossoms and other flowers in February and just last night we had an overnight low of 9C (48F)

keep drivin' them Cadillacs with the cow-horns on them John - you'll be a winter resort in no time!
We're doing our damnedest to make the globe warmer down here but it just keeps getting cooler.😉

Downright chilly and rainy here yesterday- LOTS of wind (lost a section of fence). No snow though, not since the one in February. We liked the snowstorm- we were the only folks in Austin with snow tires, boots, and parkas.
Marfa, which is at the same latitude as Austin, made 8 degrees, nearly thirty degrees below normal.😱

In the DFW area it snowed either on the first day of spring or the first of April (can't remember which) in 1987.

On the first day of spring in 1987 the high was 81 degrees and on April 1st of the same year the high was 80. Maybe you're thinking of another year?
It was a little colder March 20, 2000 but there wasn't any snow.

No - my recollection is it was a Sunday in March or early April. I know for sure it was a Sunday.

You are probably correct. On Sunday March 29 the high was 39 and the low was 29. There was some precipitation at Love Field that day but there was none in Richardson which is where I was living at the time. I'm pretty sure there wasn't any snow there then - not like this:
