I could be wrong, but regarding the attendance of the Community my understanding was that each Member was (more or less) a Guest having to respect the Rules, applied to everyone regardless of role.
Membership upgrades are available via donation and I would like to do it, but I haven't yet found a way to anonymously do it.
However, I noticed that the thread Your contribute to Audio evolution was suddenly closed.
For no reason, without notice and without telling even a single word.
I'm aware that it definitely is not the most important thing in the world, but IMHO it is a thing having its importance in relationship between people.
Please note that I consider the thread as "not a thing of mine" and anyway I won't post anymore, but if the Rules apply to everyone I would like to kindly know why the thread was closed and who gave the order to close it, if possible.
FWIW It was for me really low, seeming an arbitrary ruling of which I can't even imagine a genuine explanation.
Thank you in advance.

I think, if you consider the fact that this forum exists because of a private initiative, everything will be clear to you to understand. The owner/s of the forum are not obliged at law, to give more rights to users because this is their private forum, and members have to agree with its ruling policies and rules before they become members.
I am NOT a moderator or an administrator and have nothing to do with its adminstration. Believe it or not, I have felt like you in the past, but the positive fact, is that thanks to initiatives like this forum, I could transform an amplifier the way I wanted it. It already gave me two years of service.

Oh well, I don't really get it either. It was probably 'unsafe' in some way: someone claims an invention belongs to X and someone else complains about it, putting the site in harm's way.
We are not equal, we have not all the same english language skills.
We are all born with a squall ... except we are more a squall for each others than equal ! More or less... eventually !

Well, this thread will likely be closed. You're not allowed to discuss moderation, if you wanted an answer why your thread was closed, you should have asked discreetly.
My guess as to why it was closed because it was a crappy thread. Some responded as if "audio" meant the field of science, some as it it meant "audio" as a hobby, i.e. pursuing hifi, and some as if "audio" mean DIY audio. There was simply no rhyme or reason to the thread.

We might FEEL like this is our forum because well without ‘us’ it couldn’t exist. The mods run the enforcement with widely varied interpretations, language barriers and personal opinions. The most questionable rule as mentioned is the fact that mods ruling, opinions or actions cannot be publicly discussed. This kind of shadow government/we cannot be questioned has failed over and over again in world history. I have seen mods here make completely inappropriate comments or decisions with no consequences. Am I talking to much about it already? Will a mod shut down this thread to silence dissent? How are mods regulated if we can’t talk about their actions? There are also some very fair, diplomatic, positive mods around here as well, if not for them all would be lost.
