We (Americans) owe our Thanksgiving Feast to the Dutch

Boston would probably not exist and we would not have got the band of the same name.

I rest my case:
Turning them away would have been the right thing to do.

😀

I have good memories of Boston when as a young man I discovered the US of A. They (Boston) had this very exciting area in town called, at the time, the Main Battle Zone. Would make Miami Vice blush...

Of course Bostonians also realized that the rest of the country is culturally deprived, or so they told me.

Aren't you glad they were not turned away? Where would Boston be if they were? Or is that too poitical? 😎

Jan

Boston would still be where it always has been - Lincolnshire, UK.

And if you've ever been there, you'd understand why so many were ready to jump on board a vessel on an uncertain journey west in preference!

The mystery is actually why they named Boston, Mass. to remind them of home 😉

Jan, I think you meant "The Combat Zone" seamy does not quite begin to describe it, but its been gone for about 20yrs now.. Thanks for the memories. LOL

Fine internet institutions like pornhub have largely rendered it superfluous.. LOL Providence RI was always the better place for that sort of thing as they had more liberal laws.

"Banned in Boston" is an expression some of you might have heard of, Boston was not always the open minded progressive place it is known for being today, and more recently than you might think. There are other equally embarrassing moments in our not so distant past.. We know our history.. LOL
