Funny, as school kids we were regaled with Pilgrim tales every autumn, stories of the first hard year in the New World for the early European settlers. Meanwhile in Jamestown Virginia my family was comfortably installed and engaged in the tobacco trade. And down here in Florida, the city of St Augustine was well past it's 50th year.

I suppose that the history books were all written in New England. 😛
 
Hmm, some definite New England bashing going on here, proud to be from Boston, the Hub of the Universe.. 😉

My wife's ancestors arrived here within a few years of the original settlers around 1630 or so.

Boston was one guy in his basement until he (they) had to perform live.

Cradle of the revolution lest yee forget...
