WAW RSS315

So I’m sitting here with 4 NIB RSS315hf-4 I got for free and wondering what trouble I can get myself into.
@xrk971 ss/rss WAW inspired me.
So I’m thinking 2 sealed with DSP and analog active. It would be cool to cross with the natural rolloff of a sealed full range (200-300). I could use the SS and cross a bit higher but what else is out there around $1k?
Happy Father’s Day dudes

That is what i have for mine.

Good choice.
Any advice for a closed box?
I’m thinking I’ll do a closed box inside a closed box like I did for my 3way

Technically you should conider the width which gives you an initial FBS(-3) = fbs

Where you XO exactly depends on morenthan justthe width — 0.707x ≤ fbs ≤x1

… and ≤ the quarterwave frequency of the centre-to-centre of the drivers.

Ideally they overlap.

I XO at 250 on the width MTM WAWs, and 200 on the wider TWW ones.

You’d need a 70mm throat size to fit them. Horn will limit the LF limit, change the dispersion and raise the bottom 3 or 4 octaves abpve the useful cutoff.
Throat size wouldn’t be a problem.
It would create a very shallow horn so it would act more as wave guide.
There would be no horn loading. And crossing at 400hz, maybe 500hz LF is limited already.
The horn would delay the onset and soften beaming. Directivity would narrow smoothly.

I think I will. I was thinking about that too but I don’t think CTC spacing will be an issue here: at 400 Hz (λ ≈ 860 mm), 1/4λ = ~215 mm (~8.5"). This should stay within this range or close enough that LR4 slopes
would have minimal vertical lobing. It’s so shallow

Drivers arrived yesterday.
Coming up with horn/waveguide plans now with Martin.
Because these won’t have any horn loading we can use a smaller size and still get the directivity and SPL
benefits
