Re: Hmmm...
Isn't that a good thing?
The Focal is rather unforgiving of any grittiness upstream, but I've not heard a soft-dome that I'd prefer (although I've not heard the ring- radiator as yet.)
Arne- whats your problem with it, if you dont mind me asking?

I do not like the Focal unit much...I think it gives some coloring to the sound, and is not as airy and detailed as the Revelator in my AudioVector S6.
Female jass-singers looses the "magic".
I do not need any "grit-filter..."
The RingRadiator is over-priced, not better sounding, just much harder to implement...

need help...!
Since my "clones" are gathering dust, it would have been nice to modify them into something usefull...
As they now are with above mentioned drivers, and filter is a copy of this:
http://www.users.nac.net/markowitzgd/david/wap-x-o.gif and this:
http://www.users.nac.net/markowitzgd/david/watt-x-o.gif
-I have been told that the 0,33mH is too small in this setup.
OK, easily changed. But still don't like the midrange. So I need a totally different driver...but what is usable here?
And then, what mods should I do to the filter?
Or should I change the whole speaker into something similar to the "Poly Natalia" ? http://www.blackdahlia.com/polyarti.htm
Suggestions are most welcome...

Hi,
don't understand 0.33mH is too small see :
http://www.users.nac.net/markowitzgd/david/wattcrossover.htm
A totally different driver is not really on.
Or the Poly Natalia - you can't get the drivers.
Best re-use would probably be as follows :
Rebuild the head unit with a 6.5"/1" design of your choice.
Bi-amplify with active bass/mid slopes to the bass unit.
Probably best to use active baffle step compensation for the
mid/treble head to increase headroom, but more complicated.
