I have heard those PMC's
And they are good.. one of the only commercial speakers i would buy.. TL designs that are good like this one are testimony to their virtyes.. I dont know with such a complicated c/o that they would be tube friendly but a s a speaker they are very very good

Look at MJK's simulation of the Alpha15 in an H-baffle or which is here 2 Alpha15s in the proposed H-baffle: http://www.audiocircle.com/gallery/albums/userpics/50000/2alpha15_50procent.JPG then go along with mid- and tweeter units. I would also suggest mid-OB and then see what you would like for tweeter. This combo will ultimately sound better than the PCM I am sure.

I have heard various PMC speakers
I don't know about the particular PMC's that Tino was listening to, but I've heard a number of their line from a few years back (and then a few more years back). I always thought that they did quite a good job on a lot of music that I took along - but I ended up going down a different path.
I had my epiphany when at a hi-fi show in Melbourne (I think around '87 or '88). Wandering along the passage-way of a hotel, I heard Laurie Anderson 'singing' "From The Air". When I reached the room I realised the sound was coming from a pair of Apogee (Calipers, I think) speakers. It was also the live track from United States, which is another reason I thought it was actually her in the room.
I still lust after the Apogees, but realise that I just can't afford the amplification. so I chose the DIY course to try to see if I could emulate the effect more cheaply. Still working on it!
