I attempted to enter this site from a 'banner' on this (DIYAudio) site. The warning screen came up which stated that the site is a forgery!😕

This can happen if the domain vs. the certificate issuer has a discrepancy. This may happen if an ad site "cloaks" a domain's URL for the moment the SSL connection is made.
It may be an oopsie in other words.
Though I have been the victim of an unusually large amount of browser hijacks using Firefox in the last couple months, from sites using legit ad services (there's a loooooong explaination for this).
If in doubt, go directly to Parts ConneXion - The authority on hi-fi DIY parts and components or enter the website name through Google.

Luckily SSL certificate issues like the one you mention Brianco are less prevelant as browser code improves and there's less browser types out there.
