Hi there,
I recently brought back a Thorens TD 165 from Germany. I realized that I need a 110 Volt motor with a 60hz pulley in order to work the machine here. I would love to either buy the parts or even swap my fully functioning 230 volt motor with the 50hz pulley for one that works here in the States.
Oddly enough, the dealer I took the turntable to replace a motor that I had tried to purchase on ebay, and which was not fully functioning, told me that this pulley on the original TD 165 motor can be removed. This is odd because it should not be removable without the motor, since the pulleys on this model were originally attached to the motor and don't come off easily.
Anyway, pls help if you can..
Best... Mem

A TD150 motor will result in wrong speed on a160. The motors without a wallwart are always 110V and use a series resistor in 220V countries, only the pulleys are different for 50 and 60 Hz.

Georg, so what you are saying is that I just need to replace the pulley with 60hz, and it would work with my 230 Volt motor?
