Wanted: subwoofer parts.

The big problem with FR speakers is that they have unimpressive bass.

Hence, subwoofers.

If anyone has a subwoofer driver left over from an upgrade, an old low-power plate amp, or whatever, I could probbably use it.

Cheap is paramount - I don't have much cash.

Teapot,

Take a look at Mach 5 Audio.

Several subwoofer drivers that perform well and will not hurt your wallet.

Take a look at the subwoofer I built using one of their drivers.
MAW-10 Subwoofer Project.

Also, you should be able to save some money if you use an existing amplifier for power.

Cheers,
Gio.

Nice! (I wonder if I could get some of those used?)

How much trouble do you think I'd get in if I used a standard amplifier, wired in parallel? Velleman also makes an inexpensive 100w amplifier kit (the 8040), but I've heard that it sounds awful.
