Hi
There's lots of threads giving a little advice on building circuits on these popular universal boards. I'm looking for a good way
to cut the tracks without making a mess of nearby ones or even parts already in place. 😱
I've seen craft knives, hacksaw blade pieces and even chisels used but these are all rough methods requiring a bit of brute force.
I have seen a tool like a little milling cutter, fitted with a tiny spigot that centred it in the board hole. All you did was spin it in
between your fingers like a pin vyce and it would cut the track with a circular gap.
Ever seen anything like this? Is there a better method and/or tool available for this job.
If you have a method that you think gives a good result on a board that may already be wired up, would you like to share it? 🙂

Vero make a stripboard cutter
Prototype wiring solution and associated components, low cost, ex stock.
Vero part no is 22-0239
Personally I usually use a drill bit to cut stripboard tracks, but you need to make sure that no copper swarf is left that could cause a short.

Thanks for the details, Xoc1. Funny though, not obvious on local RS or Element14 (Farnell) sites.Vero make a stripboard cutter....
I had a recollection of this from many years ago, but the tip angle of about 90 degrees (it appears)
would surely gouge a deep hole before it cut all the copper. You'd hardly call that a "spot-face" cutter!
You may just have a better option with that normal 120 degree drill bit, there.
Ah, ....price! The local Farnell price for the Verotek tool is equivalent to near 3 times their UK price of 6 Pounds.
We are asked for 30 AUD and that is ex stock!!! 😡
They also offer a DURATOOL|3360568A|CUTTER, TRACK | element14 Australia Taiwanese equivalent at 6 AUD.
'Might even try that one. 🙁
This recalls a long, counter-productive tradition of of heavily marking up Euro import prices here.
