Looking for a schematic for this old solid state amp. Any sources would be appreciated. Is it worth fixing? Sparky
Blown transistors. We located exact replacement transistors, but wanted to review the design for problem areas and possible causes for the output transistors to fail (on one channel). We are planning to replace all electrolytic caps, especially dc coupling caps that might affect bias. When I say "we", I am helping a friend who usually works with high end tube gear like Macintosh for example. We have exhausted all sources we can think of for a schematic. Do you have a copy?
I've just been lokking through my SM's, and found a service bulletin for the 16. There's a schematic in it, but apart from that, it's mostly changes/updates, that it describes.
If your'e interested, just shoot me a valid email address.
Best regards

Ouch, you should have "camouflaged" your email add. Hope you can edit to avoid email-havesting.

One certain possible cause for failure is the fact the unit is about 30 odd years old.
