hi im having trouble finding a driver like this:
help me theres no decent speakers in newzealand!!😱
i have a 100watt 4ohm sub amp.
efficiency -----
94db/1watt approx (the hardest one to find)
Fs=30hz or so
Q<0.35 (max, i dont want peaky response)
4ohm
100-140litre sized ported box ok
Excursion 7mm
12inch
(im in new zealand also making US drivers expensive to ship generaly euro ones are cheaper)

Why not just parallel a couple of 8 ohm drivers with a 90-91 dB sensitivity? A pair of 12 inchers (30 cm) will give you plenty of output.
12" 96 dB
Yes, it seems to be really efficient to 96 dB.

T/S parameters?
www.madisonspeakers.com
(skip the intro, it's dumb) products -> woofers (at the bottom) -> Warrior 12
All the parameters are in a difficult-to-read chart, but they're all there.
Will this do what you need?

IF i could find 2 decent 12s that would work yes i could wire them in parallel
but that just leaves me probs
in Oz i can get a 12inch peerless XLS for 300$ ea
so 2 of those is 600$ + i cant tune low less i have PRs
(ports get toooo long for 25hz)
i can get a shiva for 330$
thats about it
my only other choice is
cerwin vega 12
93db(probably more like 91db)
19mmexcursion
Q=0.33
Fs=23hz
Vas=85litre
i wud buy this but its car audio and 100watts is hardly enuf

Focal was claiming that one of their sub was having a 101db/w efficiency.
It'S in the polykevlar series I think and wasn't given for free!!!

you could try http://www.jaycar.co.nz for an NZ based distributor. Although they have drivers - they are "no name" and limited specs published (eg. I couldn't find an Xmax for any one of them).
Their most expensive 12" is NZD$300. You are better off getting that Shiva or Peerless for the money.
Jaycar also do have plate amps if you need one (I bought a Redgum amp instead - before their prices went up 33%!!!!)
I got my Shiva from John Woodhead @ Acoustic Concepts http://www.acousticconcepts.com.au . Very good and efficient service. They only support a T/T (telegrapghic transfer) though for payment (no credit card) for convenience. total cost was about NZD$360. Remember you need to pay shipping (about $45 from Aus) and your bank (mine is BNZ) will charge about $25 for the T/T.
Dave.

Any TD12 variant would be nice, except TD12M.
ie, TD12X
4 ohm model = 97db sens.
fs = 34hz
Qts = .27
Le = 0.3 mH
Linear xmax = 10mm
mech xmax = 18mm
http://www.lambdacoustics.com/drivers/TD12X.html
TD series is awesome. These are wide band drivers!
...Able to play full range if need be, if not, they also
work great as a sub as long as you don't exceed
mechanical limits.
My application is low pass 300hz - 500hz and I chose
TD15H for my project.
efficent subs
re: the jaycar stuff yeh i noticed the speaker i want (200$) has no xmax figures,, so ive emailed them 😛
shiva is ok but again, 88db or so
that td12 from lambda isnt bad! quite suited to what i want!
🙂 😱
😉 🙂 🙂
thanks ppl i may go for a jaycar response if it has enuf excursion
if not.. il go for somthing else 😛
id rather buy 1 jaycar 12 than 2 warehouse subs
i heard they arent that bad,the 12inch reactor subs but i wudnt use it in the house.
thanks!
