Want to build foam speakers with my son

My son and I are going to build a speaker. We need help selecting a plan for a foam speaker that he can be proud of having built. V-shaped sound would probably be best for listening since it will be hooked up to a mid-grade Pioneer is HTR receiver. Of course, the lower the bass extends and the higher frequencies extend, the better. We want to use a single driver per side. Point me to a speaker design that you think meet our needs. We also have a size requirement that the longest side must be less than 14 inches. They will be mostly for far-field with some near-field. Tell us about speakers that would meet these requirements. Musical requirements are mostly classic rock, some jazz, and some classical.

Thanks in advance.

You were on the correct thread before. Why not try the 0.4x mini K with the TC9FD18 drivers? You might be amazed:
Mini Karlsonator (0.53X) with Dual TC9FDs
Peerless by Tymphany TC9FD18-08 3-1/2" Full Range Paper Cone Woofer
But you might have difficulty finding stock of these drivers. Parts Express only expect stock sometime in November.

Twocents is on the right track. Most bang for the buck and easy to build and sounds great. Karlsonator all the way. Either 0.40x scale (easy father and son project) or 0.53x which is similar but just bigger. Instead of TC9FD, try 3FE25, or PS95-8. For 0.53x I would use PA130-8 - very nice for the music genres you like.
