I have a pair of VIFA P13MH-00-08 midranges, a pair of Peerless 830669 12" and need to figure out what would be a good matching tweeter.
Has anyone built a big 2-4 cu. ft. 1970's era party blaster eviction model speaker with these or similar drivers? Crossover ideas? Wide open to ideas here. Everything I have built so far is dainty by comparison and strain to put out any real sound pressure. Thanks.

Here you go, lots of good choices here:

I would stay away from the micro-motor (extremely small diameter) tweets, but otherwise hard to go wrong with anything here in terms of price/performance.
Best,

This concept must end up in much the same place as the SEAS Kit 503 project by Troels Gravesen. aka the SEAS 503.
The 12" woofer is certainly similar. A closed box driver with some breakup around 1.5kHz. The mid seems to be a nice 90dB flat 5" polycone. Looks a doddle to me. But some work involved!
An efficient 91dB tweeter seems indicated.

That's the woofer we started out with in the Manzanita project.
Fast, fun, Inexpensive OB project
It's a very nice woofer, even tho they call it a subwoofer. Used to be a lot cheaper. I've only used it on Open Baffle, but also have a pair sitting on the self waiting for a project. In the OB the Peerless played very well with the Vifa TC9FD18-08 in a two way.
