Not sure exactly what they would be classified as, but what I am searching for is similar to a wall plate but smaller. I want to add an AUX line in and USB port on the back of my project box but want them coming from the same "plate". I have seen these usually in either metal or plastic but cant for the life of me find anything online. The only thing I'm finding are the bigger wall plates. AlL I need is something about 2" around with the inputs side by side or on top of each other.
Any one have any idea what I'm rambling about? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure. You could use a jack plate or jack cup for a speaker enclosure and adapt it maybe. Parts express has a selection of those.
Why must they be on a plate? Why cannot they be mounted directly on your box wall?

Cut a plate from scrap aluminum or stainless steel, put holes in it, mount it using pretty screws? A metal fabrication shop might give you plenty of useful scraps if you bring them a box of donuts. Stainless is a bit more challenging to work with than aluminum; use cutting fluid, sharp bits and the right kind of saw blade.
