Hello, I'm interested to make a fullrange monitor based on Zaph project. In this project Zaph says to use only the tangbang W3-871.
I found only the W3-871S, is it the same thing of the W3-871 ?
Bye

Hi,
from what I understand Zaph's design uses the W3-781S,
not the W3-781.
This seems to be poorly documented on Zaph's site.
As stated on Zaph's site they are not the same drivers.

But Zaph says W3-781, not W3-781S!
I don't understand 🙂
W3-871S is shielded and W3-871 is not, I've had both. I dont know if there are differences in T/S.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know there is only one driver, the W3-871S. The S stands for shielded. The 871 was never offered as a non-shielded driver.
I had a pair of W3-871 non-S. I sold them to my friend who still has them. It's the same W3-871, but without the shielding magnet and bucket.

Confusing isn't it ? however rereading the archive Zaph
only states the W3-781 is not the same as other 3" TB's.
