Top boost looks pretty similar to the Bassman preamp.

I built an early 1960's AC15 copy for my son - I didn't go for a modern version but stuck with the original 1960 circuit - 2 input channels - one with EF86 and the other with 12AX7 - a few pics of the build in this link - https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?t=147761

Very nice work! That has the really complex tremolo?
I was wondering why none of the newer amps from Vox have the EF86 (as far as I know),
probably due to microphonics?

I think you are 100% correct about the EF86 - issues with microphonics.
