Any recommendations for a power transformer for this 1995 VOX AC15TB U guitar amp? Its not mine but belongs to a friend that borrowed it from his father in law and had the misfortune of having the power tranformer primary windings short out.
I have found out that VOX no longer makes a replacement power transformer but Hammond has PN 290PX for $85 plus shipping. Its supposted to be a replacement for the VOX but is only rated for 92mA. Is this a little low for a current rating?
Can the original be re-wound or a better transformer be found?

There is a supplier here in the UK that offers an AC15 power transformer, which looks close to the original. It is rated at 120mA.

Thanks for your reply. The transformer you have a link to is for the older AC15 guitar amplifier and doesn't match up to the transformer used in the newer 1995 era amplifier.
I would remove the faulty transformer and any transformer manufacturer that knows his salt will rewind it for you.
