Hi
I have a TU8600 amp and a TU8500 preamp.
Firstly, assuming I use the preamp to control volume, what volume position should I fix my TU8600? Eg what is the difference between having it set at 12 o'clock or having it set at max?
Secondly, is there any argument that I should set the preamp volume to max and use the TU8600's volume pot to control volume? (noting that my TU8600 has a alps blue velvet volume pot and my Tu8500 has a lower quality volume pot).
What is best practice, and why?
Many thanks in advance

I used to pair the 8200 with 8500. For me, i used the phono amp input and input 1 for CD and NAS. So I have 2 "volume setting" for the 8500. I could use the multi setting at the back but it is hard to reach.
