Thanks! Can the encoder change both the input and attenuation, or just the attenuation? If the latter, is there a way to change the input without using the remote?

Could you tell me what kind of microcontroller you used?
Is it possible to program it like an Arduino nano or Atmega328 using micro USB?

My problem is that I don't need a new remote to control the attenuator.
I hate to deal with many remotes and want to use the IR remotes that I already have, e.g. from JVC, Marantz and Teac, and use them to control the attenuator.
That's why it has to recognize and operate the specific IR codes.
But that only works if I get the program for the PIC18f4520 too.
