I have a alps blue 100k volume pot.
I hooked it up the way the manufacture says but when I turn the knob it changes the tone balance from low to high and does not effect output level.
Just to be clear I think I should be able to put a Ipod input directly into the pot and the output to my amp and it should attenuate the level, right? Just want to make sure I am not missing something obvious.
Or do you guys have a better simple solution to control the volume before my amp?

I found the problem, My mini stereo input jack was jacked up.
Its all working now!!
