Hi Guys
I am working on a box for 3-12" Volt 3143's and a ATC mid and SS 9700.I seem to not be in agreement with my designer on the box vent(front firing).
The box is 13w x 58h x 23.75d(inside dimensions).My designer says a vent of
4"h x 13w x 8d for a F3 of 34.9hz,Fb of 31hz.
The owner of the speakers was hoping for a little deeper F3,Fb.
Volt 3143
fs-34
Qa 5.7
Qe .37
Qt .35
Vas 76l
xmax 5.2mm
anyone have any experience with these?

A late response:Yes but not when using 3 in parallel that for me is a 'conundrum'= Why? is it necessary to present a 2 Ohm load for the amps.

he has a Krell KSA 250(good to 1ohm) and a 2.7ohm load is fine for it.
Thanks for the proof B...We cut wood and the new dimensions are now
13w x 20w x 66h which is close to the same volume.
So you want to see the drivers sittin up from the vent?correct?

I have these for my pals speakers
and 4-2500/10" midbass for my new project and 6/ 8" for center and surrounds.
I was thinking on using the 8"(MB,M,T,MB)but not sure they will withstand the sometimes odd lower fs punishment of 40-50hz.But if the 10's donnot image well, then I will try the 8

That's a lot of Volts!
At the moment I'm just happy that the T/Ls I built for my 3143s almost ten years ago using mostly semi-educated guesstimates and a lot of inspiration from PMCs XB2 are practically identical to Bjorno's 3rd version.
Phew…

John mclsound, your box isn't a bit on the big?! (post #5)
(only now I read your PM, what is going on with the JBL 2245s, is it over or need a response? http://www.nousaine.com/pdfs/Monster Bass.pdf )

Yes inductor
I just started 3 projects
JBL Reference in a W,MB,M,T,MB,W with 2-2245 and 2-2118 and one ATC mid and SS 9700 crossed at 160,800,3800 at 12db/
The cabinet is 20w x 26d x 76h inside.He wants a Dunlavy style coffin and the 2245 will fit that bill .
The 3 Volt system(3VS) is under way now although no cabinet tuning is finalized, nor the JBL R.
The 3rd is my personal system and I will be doing some cutting soon.

Any update on these projects?
Any links to PMC clone designs?
I am seriously tempted to make a IB1 clone with an MB2 style Volt bass driver (because i cannot source the IB1/IB2's bass driver).
Thanks

Projects are on the go..
I have a question as to the 3rd volt positioning. The owner was wondering about placing the 3rd volt at the top of the cabinet in a WWMTW array?I was not sure of the outcome..
Inductor-The JBL are a nightmare to move around, hell the volt one is also.
RD-Bjorn has a link on one of my topics way back for the MB2

Maybe if we had the FRD/ZMAs we could simulate that in BoxSim or other. Does Speaker Workshop work for that too?! What simulator are you using?WWMTW array?I was not sure of the outcome..
