Correct, a bit more than. I used 2.8kw peak rating of the amp. Its 600wrms@4R module on each coil of the DVC sub
78.4v

True 'chuffing' is the vent's output being modulated (warbling) that in truly extreme cases can effectively lower tuning below Fb, potentially 'grenading' the driver, so a good plan to have a subsonic filter a few Hz below tuning.
Hmm, with a Sd/Av = 3.3183:1 I might can believe with some vent damping; a 4.0841:1 OTOH is beyond my experience with even relatively modest (high in my era) power, but no experience with extreme Xmax drivers, so waiting with 'bated breath' 😉 for your listening opinions. 👍

Thanks GM
I did careful modelling of the fill, especially at the entry of the final segment (not the exit vent, the other end). Approximating thin layers of pool filter as a 'sibilance' guard inside the back of the exit area. I imagine it to work like a leaky PR interface inside the port. Testing will show how she goes. I have also stocked up in non-spidred, roll surround only, very compliant, rectangular and racer PRs to experiment with inside the port. Who knows, I might be on to something there
Does it seem like, to you, that I have ended up with a model that, in a balance of sealed to ported, leans about 70% sealedish? Maybe that's what the pro mobile subs demand for a higher output then sealed?
I can get DS18 products locally at a good price and reliable delivery. Their amps seem to make rated power and then some. One lil monobloc does 4kw+ on the dyno and seems to be long term stable. I am thinking of getting this or a smaller one that can do 2kwrms into 2R and run ZXI coils in parallel. We can really push and test the driver at the boat ramp car park and take it to its thermal limits. My current 12" always feels like it could do with twice the power then the gen11000 slash series can do. I have had this amp for almost 25yrs now, I think she might also be having issues now. I have this and a 300wrms monobloc at the moment to break the driver in car
Still trying to gauge your opinion on the two test boxes above? Do they appear to be close to what the driver may want on paper? I couldn't find any other paths to steer in Hr for any improvements in the 80 or so litre cab dimensions
Please see my other thread about test gear. New laptop, Bheringer calib mic, home audio interface, 2/8 DSP, DATSv3, ARTA/REW, 1.2kwrms modules with integrated mains PSU are all in hand with the DATSv3 arriving in early next week
If you may, please add to what else I would need for a fairly comprehensive home/mobile speaker lab. I really am keen to step into prototyping PRs and drivers after these projects are done. Also, I might need some help in figuring out how to record these subs on video to present results back to the threads. I am leaning towards the well specced conference cam on the laptop together with audio from the interface. The AG06mk2 that I have shortlisted seems ideal for this use and can be my daughters personal studio mixer too. She has a YouTube channel (Baycraftkid) and is into animation and things
Thanks a lot again man, always much appreciated

I am withdrawing the bass reflex concept. The problem is aspect ratio with Vb to port with pro mobile subwoofers. It makes a port done in a usual manner resemble a poor TL
Not giving up on a BR design for such a driver. The TL and TH models have pretty looking curves. Time to push a BR further

Pushed a BR further. The link below explores the current messings and a proof of concept build. If successful, the design will be entered as the BR entry for the Volcanos
