No such thing..
Every 8” driver is woofer..
Using them over 800Hz-1kHz is not very clever..

Maybe youre right, but saw many project with 8" midbass, have 3 pairs of 3w speakers, would like to taste 2 way with smaller enclosure but Dynamic And detail sound, hope not to do a mistake, prefer some more dynamic driver, thats why i asked about visaton....
Cheers

Don't forget the deep bass! 😉

You know that some of the requirements for deep bass, like high cone mass and high motor strength are in direct contradiction with what's needed for dynamics and detail? It's not a question of Visaton vs some other brand. 8" is just more demanding and ambitious. Cloning smaller projects only works until it stops working!

That 5 kHz resonance will strongly amplify distortion wherever it's a harmonic multiple of lower frequencies, like 2.5k, 1.66k, 1.25k, 1k... (or IM side band)

If you want to minimise that source of distortion, you'll need to do something special, perhaps tuning the amplifier's output impedance to optimally damp the ringing and/or minimise THD+IM in general.

I agree that excellent two way is better than average three way speaker..
But using 8' unit isn't right way to do it..
Dayton RS180-4 or pair of Visaton AL130 is..
Right way to use AL200 can be something like this..

didnt find any results under wf223b01 driver...
Got a great offer until end of the week at TB W8-2096, looks superb and datas as well, but havent seen any opinions or projects, just say that they are suitable for 2way btw...

Sorry, but I wrote down the model number quickly. It’s was meant to be wf223bd01 for the 4 ohm version and bd02 for the 8 ohm. On special at PE for $149.25

That tb driver also looks good on paper, and slightly better priced than the wavecor.

Disco-M is one of the best designed passive crossover 8" 2way loudspeaker that i have laid my eyes on. Alexander Heissmann is very smart fellow so if FAST is out of the question, this would be the only viable option for passive crossover. If going DSP controlled, almost any decent 8" will work (Seas L22RNX, Seas W22, SB23NACS or even AL200).
