Just got this unit for cheap.
I'm new to diyaudio. Have been posting in the full range section for a few weeks.
I have done a thorough deoxit on this unit.
Here's what's up: lots of humm through the speakers (no... it doesn't humm because it doesn't know the words...).
Volume is quite low. I can get a bit of sound through all but one channel.
When the unit is on, when I touch the RCA inputs on the back the humm occurs or increases.
I've done a visual inspection inside and do not see any bloated/leaking capacitors, though I know that doesn't mean they are all good... just looking for obvious stuff.
I can probably get a schematic/service manual. I have replaced caps in my other Sanyo quad, so that's not problem. But I don't have any experience adjusting for "bias" if that's called for (I don't even know what that is... just read about it), or making any other internal adjustments/setting inside the machine.
I'm asking for suggestions, possible fixes/checks that I've not thought of.
Thanks.
