Vintage home theatre

We have decided to put a theatre room in when we finnish our basement. I have a budget of ~$1500 to spend on audio equipment. Let me start with a little history. I guess one could call me a freshman in the audio world, but I do know a fair bit. My (little) obsession with vintage audio started when we bought a pair of ESS AMT 1s. Highs as light as helium. They ran off of a newer Sony stereo receiver, 197 something was the model number. Whatever, it was something about $200. A couple months back I was walking by a thrift store and saw this little Sony receiver. A 7015. I walked in and bought it for $5. Brought it home and plugged it in the the AMTs and never looked back. This bottom if the line (when it was released) receiver out did my brand-new Sony. Even though it is only 15wpc it can still crank up the volume to where the new Sony could. I am assuming that the 7015 is more efficient? Is that the right word? The sound is more natural and warm, tube like. Our home theatre consisted of a 42" plasma, Pioneer blu ray player, a Pioneer vsx 519, Polk M10s as surounds, and Sinclair towers as fronts, and a DIY 12" subwoofer and DIY centre. I had the Sinclairs and Polks connected to the stereo before the AMTs. I really do not like the Pioneer receiver, so I would like to start fresh for the new theatre. Plus we need and amp and speakers for the living room tv, the 42" plasma. The pioneer sounds very electronic as dose the newer sony. With all that said, I would like to set up a vintage home theatre. Well vintage amps.
I have chosen the ($300) Marantz SR4003 to be my pre amp + centre channel amp. I will connect 2 amps to the pre outs to power the rear and fronts. For now i only want to do 5.1. I am looking at getting either two Marantz 1060s or 1070 or one of each for the fronts and rears. I known that I will be duplicating pre a amps but i like that sound and styling. On of my questions is are these good choices in amps? Would you recommend something else? They are about $200 a pop. I think that is going to be my limit.

For speakers I am going to build matching fronts and rears a three way towers. I was going to use a Hivi M8N 8" woofer, Hivi M5n 5" mid, and Dayton ribbon tweeter. Centre would use the same drivers. And a 15"-18" subwoofer. I figure that these will be enough to fill a 18'x20' room. Am I right?
I would really appreciate any help or comments. Even if they are to say that I'm crazy, witch I probably am.

Thanks.

not really ....its a possible solution but you will run in many detail issues such is colurations from preamp stages and colurations from the amplifier it shelf or diferent amps will show diferent nurve ...

an option will be o buy any vintage audio that you like ( service it properly before using it ) but seperate pre from main stages to get as less possible in the signal way .

regards sakis
