Hi!

I got these drivers really cheap (70$ each), but i can't find any projects that uses them.
If i don't find any, i'll use thew with http://www.d-s-t.com/vifa/data/d27tg-05-06a.htm tweeter, but i still need crossover design (help).

I don't know any projects, but I do have several XT18WO09 which has a larger magnet and higher Q_ms.

Just out of curiosity, can you see whether the VC former is made of aluminum or Kapton (brown, semi-translucent stuff)? Mine have a Kapton former.

Also, mine emit a ticking sound when driven with a 20-30 Hz sine to about +/- 2 mm excursion. I am not sure whether this also takes place at higher frequencies because the ear's sensitivity picks up above 30 Hz. Music sounds absolutely wonderful, undistorted and much better than with my Peerless CSC176.

I would be curious to know whether this ticking is a problem with the quality of my drivers or a general construction problem, e.g. originating from the multi-roll surround or the basket-magnet joint.

I think it's Aluminum, but i'm not shure couse i havent received them yet. I'll get them on monday, then i'll let you know for shure. How do they handle bass? Low enogh? What's your box size?

I just tried them open baffle, and not with any kind of finished setup. From their TSP and excursion limit, I would probably operate them with a sub only. If the ticking is a problem with all of them, I would even recommend to roll them off as high as possible.
