A question for the forum.... I have a pair of Vifa XG18WH00 7" woofers that got left out of a resent project. Any chance I could use these in a sub project? Anyone have any thoughts?

These are closer to midrange drivers than sub drivers. Their low bass distortion levels are not that great compared to most other options. Byt they do have a nice clean and low distortion midrange however. I'd use them in a two way and look elsewhere for a sub.

Zaph,
Unable to reach you through email so I thought I would post a question here about your Vifa/Seas MTM.
I really like both of these drivers and thought I would build your design. Do you use any bracing inside the cabinets? Also, do you use any inside cabinet wall treatment? I've had a couple of suggestions - one was latex tile cement on the inside walls to deaden the cabinet - the other was Whispermat or simular material (along with the Acoustuff).

Hello,
Yes, the insides are heavily braced. These are the pre-fabricated enclosures available at Parts Express. I used only acoustistuff because this box is relatively stiff, but you could certainly use whispermat or something that has a mass loaded barrier.

If you're building your own boxes, you could probably get away with a simpler form of brace, such as the single board in this box I built below. You'd be surprised how much stiffness a single board can add when it is placed from side to side as shown.
