Hi everyone !
My gainclone is finished, my BOZ is being completed and the next step will be a new pair of loudspeakers.
I'm currently looking for a 2 way / floorstander / 2 X 6½" + 1 tweeter loudspeaker design.
I found the following :
http://www.audiocomponents.nl/speakers/vifa/classic/tekening/carat_1.htm
The design seems to fit my needs but I can't find the mentionned 17-WP-200 woofer so I'd like to substitute them with another 6½" woofer model.
Does changing woofer model has any impact on the crossover's components value ?
Do you have any suggestions for a substitute woofer ? (Something like Vifa P17WJ or SEAS... well not too expensive like scanspeak)
Any other alternative floorstander project are welcomed too !
Thanks again !
Regards,

The dutch distributor use another system of labeling (why they do that doesn't make sense) So the mentioned 17-wp-200 woofer is simply the Vifa P17WJ.
I've auditioned this speaker at a diy-speaker shop in the Netherlands and it's a good speaker, but don't expect miracles from it. I would suggest to have a look at the Premium 22XT design of Vifa, Click It uses a newer range of drivers including the vifa ringradiator. And IMHO it's quite an improvement for €100/side extra investment.

After a quick look at vifa's catalog, I presume that the mentionned PLW14/232/8 are in fact PL14WJ908 and the XT-300 is the XT25TG3004 right ?
However, the tweeter is quite expensive. Do you think it worth its price ?

Yes you are right about the part numbering.
About the costs of the units. In the netherlands the kit costs about €350,- for one speaker including drivers and filtercomponents. If you mail audiocomponents directly maybe they can make you a special offer (price lower then retail in the Netherlands), audiocomponents is willing to send all over the world except the countries with an existing distributor.
If you pay the Dutch price (€350/speaker excluding wood) it's worth every penny. The tweeter is a steal at €70,- we are talking about same qualities as Scanspeak D2010, D2905/950000, D2904/980000. (revelator is a bit better though 😉)
If you don't want to pay that much the premium11 is worth considering if can cope with less bass and are in a room <30 square metres. (it's ~€225 for drivers and filtercomponents)
