The Vifa Studio Kit, shown above, was avail. at Madisound a few years ago but seems to have been discontinued (all on-site refs to it are gone except this: http://www.madisound.com/pdf/Kits/studiokit.pdf). I think this was an in-house (Madisound) project -- and not a genuine Vifa kit design.

What happened? Was (is) the design flawed in any way to warrant elimination? If anyone has detailed build plans for this model -- specifically XO -- can you post them or a link to them? Criticism of this design are also appreciated.

Thx!

Here are some off-site ref's to the Vifa Studio:

Vented or passive radiator does not make much difference.
The box sizes and crossovers are the same for both cases.
In an offlist exchange with Troels, he concured that vent and pass. rad. achieve relatively similar results/performance. There'll be some port noise with vent, but not much with such as small woofer.

WRT the XO diffs/similarities, Troels (and myself) can't comment much. If the box size and drivers are the same, then yes...good speaker-design software/techniques, being used by skilled engineers, will result in similar XO topology.

If anyone has the Madisound unit (kit), maybe they can shed further light. TTBOMK, Madisound never published the XO schematic.
